Leslye Cole is an artist / author based in Sydney, Australia. With a career spanning nearly thirty years, her artistic talents have been used by the top advertising agencies, design studios and publishers in Australia and the world. She has illustrated thirteen books, and is the co-author, with John Richardson, of "The Dog Whisperer" & "Whispers of Wisdom" (New Holland Publishers).

Working in various mixed media, Cole has an affinity with pencil, watercolour and oils. "An emotive and sensitive image can be created by playing with the weight and direction of each stroke on the paper, building up a beautiful monochromatic form with hatch and cross-hatch. . ." ". . .and watercolour has an honesty that can't be ignored, the transparent nature of the paint is so pure. It is a joy to watch the pigmented wash flow and bleed on the paper, sometimes deliberately. Sometimes accidentally."

Although she continues to take on select commercial projects, in the last few years Cole's priorities have changed, spending less time on commercial work and more time on her fine art career. She is starting to rack up awards in painting competitions with works which are inspired by the beauty of the rural Australian landscape and the lives of the people who live on the land.
